<body class='hmmessage'><div dir='ltr'>Hello, I am wondering if you have had anytime to look at the CD/DVD mount issue with the newer 3.2.etc debian kernel as of lately? I have posted in some other places and have gotten none or limited response perhaps it is not a large or important bug. <br><br>I think it's to bad after upgrading the system to kernel 3.13.etc there is no longer ease of use to utilize the CD/DVD drive on any debian based computer using the newer kernel.<br><br>Debian bug report #72978 post #50 did not seem to help at all. It seems to work on the system temporarily but fails to read after the same disk is mounted a couple times.<br><br>#!/bin/sh -e<br>#<br># rc.local<br>#<br># This script is executed at the end of each multiuser runlevel.<br># Make sure that the script will "exit 0" on success or any other<br># value on error.<br>#<br># In order to enable or disable this script just change the execution<br># bits.<br>#<br># By default this script does nothing.<br>echo 2000 > /sys/module/block/parameters/events_dfl_poll_msecs<br>exit 0<br><br>It does work temporarily but upon a couple power cycles it fail's again. Besides even with the above line added the CD/DVD drive acts like it's reading the media differently 'takes longer to read' than prior with the 2.16.etc debian kernel.<br><br>I got your response back as you would consider this to be a small bug already in a prior post. <br><br>1. I wanted to reiterate that this is how you consider this situation to be small bug?<br><br>2. Should I be looking at something as far as Udev is concerned also?<br><br>3.
