<div dir="ltr">I know there are a number of Linux sysadmins on this list and I'm trying to decide if Dell is pulling my chain or not. I've got a Dell R620 server that we need to do some 3D graphics on. <div><br></div>
<div>The onboard graphics card is a Matrox chipset that appears to have very poor 3D performance under Linux. I asked Dell if I can get a graphics card in the server that performs better for 3D graphics. Their response was "3rd party video cards in servers don't support 3D and are only for dual monitor use at standard VGA resolution".<div>
<div><br></div><div>Can anyone confirm that there's no solution that will provide better 3D performance in such a machine? I find it hard to believe that the server somehow disables the 3D support on the card. Although I don't know that much about video cards and how they talk to the CPU.</div>
