Having never heard of SubGenius, I greatly appreciate your indignation<BR>
at the Slackware linux name to the point that you decided to comment on<BR>
it on here so I can learn about it. Oh the joys... this sounds as cool<BR>
as being a pastafarian following the noodly teachings of the FSM. I<BR>
wonder if Pastafarianism, Church of the SubGenius, and Fictionology can<BR>
coexist in one. Which religion should I choose???<BR>

As cited in the referenced Wikipedia article, this slashdot interview indicates it<BR>
was SubGenius inspired.<BR>

Of course anyone should be free to choose their own distro using<BR>
whatever reasoning they decide is appropriate. I personally find the<BR>
name of a product to be extremely far down the list of factors when<BR>
deciding what products to buy or use. I would imagine there is a great<BR>
deal of code in every distro that is written by people who have some<BR>
opinions that are in extreme opposition to your own yet I doubt you'd<BR>
decide to stop using their awesome programs for that reason alone<BR>
(assuming hypothetical code was awesome).<BR>

Either way, thanks again for pseudo controversy so I could learn of<BR>
SubGenius. Maybe I will help spread their good works now.<BR>

This is where the name *Slack*ware came from. That is why you will see
"Bob" when in reference to Slackware. That is why someone on this very
group mentioned "Bob". Again, it is an insult on Christianity.
