Linux is like the free market, do whatever you want that works for you. I'm pretty sure thats what we learned from all those other posts. With 4 gigs of RAM you don't have to worry about one being more hogging than the other so go with whatever floats your boat. Mix and match gnome and KDE apps to your hearts delight or branch out and try other terminal/console apps Go forth and express your individuality without worry of government regulation. <div>

I like 64 bit Ubuntu on my laptop with 4 gigs of ram but the gnome-terminal sucks so I now use konsole exclusively. I then tried the full kde plasma desktop and found it looks very nice and clean but prefer the basic simplicity of gnome interface powerful enough for me yet basic enough to not have to spend any real time learning, just jump in and go.<br>
