</div>See, the biggest issue you'd have with that is getting the source code for<br>
Lightwave.<br>

It is TECHNICALLY possible to port any code over to any OS (within reason,<br>
of course). You'd have to know the language it was written in REALLY well,<br>
and you'd have to know both source and target operating systems REALLY<br>
well, and you'd need to know how to interact with both using the<br>
programming language REALLY well.<br>
<br>
For a big app like Lightwave you'd probably need a TEAM of people.<br>
<br>
<br>
Now, small open-source FREE SOFTWARE apps, not a problem. You download the<br>
source, look at it, hopefully there's a reasonably similar programming<br>
language and API, and you get going.<br>
<br>
<br>
Large corporations are NOT going to give you their source code. It's as<br>
simple as that. Licensing issues, IP issues, patent issues, plus they just<br>
don't care.<br>
<br>

If you want to run Windows apps on Linux, try using WINE.That might<br>
actually work!<br>
