That is what I was going to suggest as well, but note that the proper keys to press are ctrl-alt-Fn So, if the computer boots up to a blank screen after changing monitors, chances are that hitting ctrl-alt-F1 will bring you to a console login prompt. -- Justin Kremer <justin.kremer at gmail.com>
