Depending how complicated you need to get, you could create a script to copy a text file with the package list. dpkg -l > installed.lst */will list all installed packages. It will even show what packages are broken. rsync or scp can transfer the file to a central computer. Any tools out there to create and maintain a central repository/list of packages installed on debian systems? As we convert older Redhat boxes to Debian, I'm finding a need to know what packages are installed on what systems. Logging into each box is a pita. Having a central repository/list would be great. Something that you could build report with would be even better :-) -- Bob Tanner <tanner at mn-linux.org> | Phone : (952)943-8700 http://www.mn-linux.org, Minnesota, Linux | Fax : (952)943-8500 Key fingerprint = AB15 0BDF BCDE 4369 5B42 1973 7CF1 A709 2CC1 B288 _______________________________________________ TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota Help beta test TCLUG's potential new home: http://plone.mn-linux.org Got pictures for TCLUG?
