Some BIOSes have a few different modes available for accessing the disk. You might want to try setting this to the various possible values (though be careful -- if I recall correctly, changing this is sometimes a destructive action, but maybe I'm thinking of something from a long time ago). If that doesn't work, you'll need to hunt for a boot disk of some kind. Just getting GRUB loaded on a floppy might be enough if you know how to navigate it properly. That would allow you to boot up the system and re-install the bootloader (I think you could theoretically do this just with the floppy, but I wouldn't really advise it) -- _ _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ ___ _ _ __ Why, oh why, didn't I take / \/ \(_)| ' // ._\ / - \(_)/ ./| ' /(__ the blue pill? \_||_/|_||_|_\\___/ \_-_/|_|\__\|_|_\ __) [ Mike Hicks | http://umn.edu/~hick0088/ | mailto:hick0088 at tc.umn.edu ] -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
