That's right the error message is not what I would call normal. This is true as well, if Linux is going to be more main stream in business, it needs to act more main stream. Error messages on start up create help desk calls, help desk calls are expensive. What System Administrator has time to deal with erroneous calls for assistance. When you tell a customer "it doesn't mean anything and everything will work" you loose credibility, because the problem does not get fixed.
