AT&T's intent was for you to buy a compiler, though I don't recall if
they liked to sell them or if they wanted you to buy it elsewhere.
gcc should be relatively straightforward.

They don't seem random to me -- they all seem to be about SysV Unix!
It's not like a whole new computer -- you're still x86, so a lot of
the stuff is still the same -- at least under the hood.
