Thank you for the research, unfortunatly you ignored my original note that
only connections to port 80 are having problems.  I can ping and traceroute
every site just fine, even at the exact same instant that I'm trying to telnet
to port 80.  The ping/traceroute will complete, the telnet will timeout.
