> Corel now has its new Office for Linux on the market for about $110. > It includes Word Perfect, Quattro, and Paradox! This seems like a really good > deal. > > Does this seem all that good to any of your with more intimate knowledge? ABSOLUTELY!!! Why? Simple.. they give you a 30 day money back guarantee. That's right. Open it, install it, use the 30 day free tech support if you must, break it, call tech support again, and if it's not 100% what you wanted, send it back within 30 days for a full refund. I own Office for linux Deluxe, and it's exactly what I wanted. A complete office suite (not free, but worth the $$) that did everything "that other Office" can. I use WP2000 at work (on Windows, but it's the same) and it is superior to the other Office in many ways. It also imports Word documents *BETTER* than Word can. A word to the wise: don't install it on Pinstripe. The font server has problems either with that version of glibc or X4.01, the tech wasn't sure. I talked to the tech at Corel this morning and they've recreated the problem I'm having, and hopefully can find a fix for it. In case you're wondering, Office runs on WINE and also installs truetype fonts on your system. It will run an any distro, and as Troy mentioned there is an install script you may have to download. You can also just RPM it in (there's 10-15 RPMs or so) manually if you want to. Great product, and if you don't agree, return it. Your other Office can't do that :-) ----------------------------------------------- FREE!
