Our IO resources can expect to: * Incorporate skills which support the programming, management and maintenance services required to implement and support new installations or maintain and improve existing legacy systems for our clients. * Receive ongoing training to build and extend professional, technical and management skills in all areas * Enjoy our comprehensive and generous benefits package Job Description: The Linux & UNIX Technical Specialist is responsible for providing Systems Engineering leadership as part of the Enterprise Platform Services (EPS) group. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated proficiency in the following areas: * Provide server engineering design leadership and technology innovation for all supported server platforms. * Maintenance of server systems and operational readiness validation of all applicable infrastructure components. * Accountability for all technical and operational support issues, including owning and driving resolution of all operational incident escalations. * Ability to analyze and provide solutions for poorly defined problems. * Ability to own and drive critical efforts forward and manage through issues as they may arise. * Set standards around server operating systems and holistic infrastructure solutions. * Have full ownership and complete accountability for specific areas of service delivery. * Industrializing and operationalizing process and technology solutions. The ideal candidate will be expected to assist in documenting and reviewing team processes and procedures, and integrate into larger firm processes. Understand ITIL processes and procedures, including standard support definitions and full compliance with IT change management policies. Participate in 7x24 On-Call Support Rotation. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * 4 year degree in IT or 5 years of experience in equivalent field Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the following: * Overall RedHat Linux (RHEL 3/4/5/6) system design, implementation and administration Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in any combination of the following: * Commercial UNIX core OS platforms (HPUX, IBM AIX, Sun Solaris) * AIX and related AIX virtualization technologies * HPUX, and related HPUX virtualization technologies * Sun Solaris, ZFS and related Solaris zones virtualization technologies Preferred skills include: * RedHat Linux GFS Clustering * RedHat Certified Technician (RHCT) * HP ServiceGuard clustering, * Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) * Knowledge of storage infrastructure concepts (SAN, NAS), and demonstrated proficiency in building out SAN attached infrastructure solutions * Experience working with EMC Symmetrix storage technologies preferred * Demonstrated proficiency in technical evaluation and design of server hardware infrastructure solutions * Experience with HP server HW (ProLiant/ Integrity/ Superdome) preferred * Experience with High Availability/failover, DR, and load balanced environments * Proficient in shell-script programming and automation via scripting * Ability to produce quality technical documentation Professional skills required: * Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences * Ability to clearly document processes and procedures * Ability to facilitate team building and cooperation across teams of diverse people * Communicate effectively and build persuasive arguments to develop alternative resolutions to problems * Awareness of organizational strategies to support the Accenture mission, vision and core values * Understand infrastructure management and distributed operation in a large environment * Ability to develop career aspirations and professional development plans on a timely basis * Skilled in mentoring and coaching skill sets in others * Ability to identify and remove barriers to effective teamwork * Maintain an open and flexible perspective to new ideas that may alter team goals * Ability to identify typical confidentiality considerations when sharing knowledge capital * Ability to manage to client expectations in terms of deadlines, scope and budget.
