Your Duties Will Include: ------------------------- - Testing Nagios product releases and software that integrates with Nagios - Providing technical support via email, forum, and phone - Writing and updating technical documentation - Working with our team to improve existing products and develop new products Rough Breakdown Of Duties: -------------------------- - 40% Technical Support (email lists, forum boards) - 40% Testing and Integration (product releases, external product integration) - 20% Content Creation (documentation, FAQs, etc) Required Qualifications: ------------------------ Experience With: - Open Source Software - Windows (XP, Vista, or 7) - Linux (preferably CentOS) - Installing Linux applications from packages (RPMs, etc) and source code - Networking protocols (HTTP, FTP, SSH, etc) - Shell (Bash) or Perl scripting (basic experience ok) Location: - Local to the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro area Persona: - Excellent written and verbal skills and grasp of the English language - Professional work ethic and attitude - Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment - Ability to meet deadlines and exceed expectations - Positive, can-do attitude - Attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: ------------------------- Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following: - Experience using Nagios to monitor network devices, applications, and services - Experience creating RPM or Debian/Ubuntu packages - Understanding of networking technologies (switches, routers, firewalls) - Experience tuning Linux systems to increase performance - Understanding of Open Source Database servers (MySQL, PostgresQL) - Knowledge of HTML / CSS / PHP Compensation/Term: ------------------ This is a part-time (20 hours per week) position that pays $15/hr to qualified candidates.
