Nagios Enterprises is a local, Twin Cities-based software startup that's 
disrupting the IT infrastructure monitoring market. Our Open Source 
monitoring product is used by hundreds of thousands of organizations 
worldwide and has strong brand recognition that rivals long-term 
industry behemoths.

We're looking for someone who knows Nagios and wants to put their Open 
Source knowledge to use building support, training, and documentation 
materials, and writing/testing integration components with OSS software.


A rough estimate of how much time you'll spend doing different things:

- 35% Technical Support (email lists, forum boards)
- 35% Testing / Q&A (product releases, external product integration)
- 30% Content Creation (videos, documentation, training material, FAQs)


Your duties will include:
-------------------------
- Writing and reviewing technical documentation
- Producing and editing technical videos for distribution on Youtube and 
other sites
- Providing technical support
- Testing and documenting Linux and Windows software that integrates 
with Nagios
- Testing products prior to release
- Helping to develop training and certification materials


Required qualifications:
------------------------
- Local to the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro area
- 2+ Years work experience in IT, network/systems administration
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (HTTP, SMTP, SNMP, etc.)
- Experience using Nagios Core
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Attention to detail
- Professional work ethic and attitude
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience with:
- Windows desktop and server OSes
- Linux (CentOS, Fedora, or RedHat preferable)


Compensation and timeframe:
---------------------------
This is a part-time (approx 20 hours per week) 3-6 month position, with 
the possibility of longer-term employment. Pay will range from 
$15-$25/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
