This individual should be an accomplished senior contributor on core OS kernel technologies. Will act as a tier 3 resource working with senior engineers with our Linux distribution provider and also with the Linux kernel community. Position requires deep multi-disciplinary engineering and development skills. Will develop enhancements to our production kernel to address current and future stability, scalability, security and performance requirements. Will also work with internal application development groups to profile application needs and advise best programming practices for production stability and performance. Individual must have experience with configuration management and version control frameworks, test and QA processes and methods, and release management for large enterprise environments. A B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline is required; masters or higher is desired. Excellent verbal and written communication is a requirement. Position in Seattle area.
