I am interested in discovering a Linux position out there in which there is a combination of skills required. Currently, I work as a computer programmer / systems geek. I have experience in a wide range of fields, including Sybase, Linux, MySQL, Solaris, C/C++, PERL and Remedy ARS. I am also fluent in Visual Basic and Windows 95/98/NT4. If there is a database out there, chances are that I can make it jump up and sing. I am very interested in becoming a Linux/Unix system administrator. As nobody is perfect, I expect that some learning wold be necessary. I am a programmer that would like to make the transition to admining. Remote admin positions are acceptable - even preferred. Please let me know if you desire a CV. Try not to laugh to hard after reading my post, as it is my first here. ;-) Kind Regards, Will Du Chene outatym1@ecenet.com From tanner at real-time.com Thu Feb 8 16:00:28 2001 From: tanner at real-time.com (Bob Tanner) Date: Mon Jan 17 15:05:57 2005 Subject: [TCLUG-JOBS] Contract position: MacIntosh and Linux Message-ID: <20010208160028.Y17438@real-time.com> Real Time is looking for someone with both MacIntosh and Linux skills for a contract position. The current contract will require skills on setting up Macs to talk to Linux/Samba servers for both file and print services. Your skill set must contain troubleshooting skills on both platforms. Understanding basic firewalling, like IP Masquarding, and port forwarding. Will be beneficial. Ok, I snipped the rest of the marketing crap. Techs hate that stuff anyways. :-) I'll translate the marketing-speak: You'll get paid. :-) We are nice people and treat people right. Don't steal our clients. Don't end-run us and go directly to the client. You get a free Real Time shirt and can-cooze! I'll think you are weird. (* ok, I add the last one :-) but you have to admit, someone withe Mac and Linux skills has to be a little different! *) Send url of your resume to jobs@real-time.com. How much work is involved? I love the mac, hate the OS it's stuck with, and love the fact that I can run linux on it. I am more than willing to take up this contract if it dosn't interfere with my "day" job. :-) How about plain text that's world readable by any OS anywhere, AND LaTeX... I am quite a masochist, so linux on macs (Did I mention I have yellow dog waiting to go on a G3 PowerBook, provided I can get the original OS 8 disc that came with the machine. (Xboot isn't friendly, yaboot makes xboot look like a childs toy. Neither are any good w/o the original system CD...)) I'll whip together a resume and post a PS/LaTeX/StarOffice/Plain Text/HTML(fully compliant of course. :-) copy of my resume somewhere and send u the URL when done. I could definitely use some extra $$ as I'm moving in w/ Idiot Ben at the end of the month and some extra dough is always helps when moving. > >-- >Bob Tanner | Phone : (952)943-8700 >http://www.mn-linux.org | Fax : (952)943-8500 >Key fingerprint = 6C E9 51 4F D5 3E 4C 66 62 A9 10 E5 35 85 39 D9 > >_______________________________________________ >tclug-jobs mailing list >tclug-jobs@mn-linux.org >https://mailman.mn-linux.org/mailman/listinfo/tclug-jobs Thanks, -- Thomas J.
